Jazzwoche Berlin #7 Where Do We Go From Here? From June 28 to July 4, Jazzwoche Berlin #7 will bring jazz, improvised music and discourse to the whole city. This year's Jazzwoche motto is "Where do we go from here"? The Opening will take place on Fri 27 June, 2025 at Club Gretchen with concerts, discourse and reception. Why is it important to preserve places for art and how can this be achieved? During the Discourse Program on Sat 28 and Sun 29 June, panels and workshops will focus on empty pockets of public authorities, new directions, solidarity. And once again, numerous clubs and venues will present a vast concert program throughout Berlin. On Fri 4 July, the Day of Action #BerlinIstKultur - Jazz Against Cultural Cuts will bring free live music from numerous bands and spoken contributions in the spirit of #BerlinIstKultur and #Unkürzbar to Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg and Neukölln. Where Do We Go From Here? — Where do we currently stand and which direction should we take? Crises are increasingly determining everyday life. How important is art and culture in times like these? What is the meaning of community in jazz and improvised music? This year's Jazz Week, under the patronage of Sarah Wedl-Wilson, Senator for Culture and Social Cohesion Berlin, is dedicated to these questions. We are looking forward to 7 days of jazz, improvised music and discourse together! Jazzwoche Berlin has been initiated and organized by IG Jazz Berlin since 2019. It is funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
