Berlin Festival 2010
Fever Ray’s only German show! LCD Soundsystem and Berlin rockers Atari Teenage Riot and much more are set to rock Tempelhof this September.
You have all been patiently waiting, and we are now proud to announce the first acts to play Tempelhof this September 10-11. On three stages (plus the legendary Mobile Disko), international and national acts will rock, blast, and shout like there’s no tomorrow.
Among the first confirmed acts, we’re happy to announce Karin Dreijer Anderson’s dark and brooding Knife side project Fever Ray. The lady from Scandinavia will join the Berlin Festival line-up for her only 2010 gig in Germany. LCD Soundsystem will perform his first festival gig in the German Capital. Indietronic fans can look forward to a powerful performance by the Dewaele brothers. On Friday, they will rock the stage with their spectacular 2manydjs audiovisual live show, and on Saturday, Soulwax will be presenting new tracks off their new album.
In addition, the Berlin-based label City Slang will celebrate its 20th anniversary on an exclusive City Slang stage. Among the confirmed birthday special guests are Caribou, Herman Düne, and Port O’Brien. More label mates of City Slang will be announced shortly.
Boysnoize Records is also preparing for an unforgettable event marathon at Berlin Festival. Besides label boss Boys Noize himself, D.I.M., Djedjotronic, Les Petits Pilous, Strip Steve & Das Glow, andHousemeister will rock the stage. If that wouldn’t be enough already, friends of BNR will be introduced as special guests: “Entertainist” Chilly Gonzales will perform tracks off his new album (produced by Boys Noize), and Peaches returns with her newly improved stage performance Peaches’ Lazershow in order to celebrate “10 Years of Teaches of Peaches.”
Venue-wise we are happy to announce some exciting improvements: the main stage will be located where last year’s second stage was set up – under the huge canopy of the airfield. Thereby we’ll make room for about 15,000 festival goers. Besides the open air stage, hangar 4 (last year’s main stage) will be this year’s second stage – this time with better sound and stage design. Count on it! In addition, an indoor stage will be set up in hangar 5 on which several showcases will be staged in cooperation with several music export offices and Popkomm. On Friday, you also have access to Popkomm with your Berlin Festival ticket. Workshops and forums for the audience are also on the agenda of all2gethernow.
